Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC), Dr. Kazem Jalali extended his sincere condolences upon the sad demise of the first and only Iranian mathematician woman to win a Fields Medal, often described as the Noble Prize for mathematics as well as math’s highest honor, Maryam Mirzakhani.
“The news of the doleful passing of eminent young Iranian and world-renowned genius and math professor, Maryam Mirzakhani has brought a deep pang of sorrow to me and all Iranians who are proud of their country’s brilliant scientists as well as distinguished scientific figures.
“I do offer my heartfelt condolences upon the passing of this lady scientist to all Iranians worldwide, the scientific community and her bereaved family”, a senior law-maker added.
“May God bless her and put her soul in peace”.
