Dr. Jalali:

Saudi Arabia, main culprit lies behind violent extremism

Expressing Saudi Arabia is behind the rise of regional and global extremisms, the Chairman of Iran-EP Parliamentary Relations Group, Dr. Kazem Jalali underscored that innocent civilians aren’t killed by guns but Salafi-Takfiri terrorists are perpetrators of catastrophic regional crises particularly, Iraq and Syria.

European Union Deputy Secretary General for the external action service, Mrs. Helga Maria Schmid met the Chairman of Iran-EP Parliamentary Relations Group, Dr. Kazem Jalali in Tehran on Monday, 08 Feb. 2016.
Referring to the recent Iran’s nuclear deal with P5+1 World Powers, senior lawmaker reiterated that the historic deal has been renewed existing interactions between Iran and EU as well as provided a new opportunity to further boost cooperation between the two countries in different aspects in post-sanction era such as energy, banking and monetary, economic and scientific fields.
With respect to EU’s inevitable need to energy imports as well as marking Iran as the best source of gas exporting to European Union, strengthening bilateral cooperation particularly in the field of transfer of knowledge and technology besides environment, economic, trade and energy areas such as oil and gas exploitation, extraction, exploitation and production should be put into the agenda, he added.
Pointing to the spread of heinous terrorist crimes of ISIL in Europe, mainly in France and Belgium in addition to the region, Head of the Islamic Research Center (IPRC) underlined that terrorism and extremism must be eradicated inclusively.
European Union Deputy Secretary General for the external action service, Mrs. Helga Maria Schmid for her part, expressed satisfaction over visiting Iran as well as further promoting bilateral ties between European Union and Islamic republic of Iran, particularly in scientific, economic, energy and environmental fields to counter … terrorist catastrophes, mainly in Syria.
She further mentioned to the impressive role of Islamic parliament of Iran in the recent nuclear deal with 5+1 World Powers also implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Referring to the undeniable need of Europe to use different resources of energy, she recalled that European Union is keen to further utilize various energies of our country especially in the field of gas exports.
It is notable that Susanna Terstal, Dutch Ambassador to Tehran, Michal Mellbin, EU special representative to Afghanistan, Stephan Auer, Director for multilateral relations and global issues in the EU External Action Service and Directorate of General for Energy of EU External Service Action, Stephan Kelman also were in attendance.
