Parliamentary diplomacy is a platform for boosting international ties

Underlining parliamentary diplomacy provides a platform to further broaden international relations, a Member of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) reiterated that Islamic Republic of Iran as a safe and stable country in the region can play a major role to resolve regional problems through using its enhanced capacities.

President of the IPU Mrs. Gabriela Cuevas Barron Union met Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC) in Tehran on Saturday, 22 June 2019.
Pointing to the great importance of new structural changes of the IPU as well as innovations made in the IPU Executive Committee in order to achieve its objectives, Iranian senior lawmaker called for promoting the IPU activities in a bid to keep international peace and security.
Referring to the key role of parliaments in developing relationship between countries or governments, Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC) highlighted that parliamentary diplomacy also plays a critical role in improving (int'l) cooperative interactions.
Pointing to the crucial role of the World's Parliamentarians' supports for establishing the global peace, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) for her part, appreciated the Islamic Parliament particularly, supportive roles played by Iranian Parliament Speaker Dr. Ali Larijani as well as Dr. Kazem Jalali (as an active Member of the IPU Executive Committee) in developing multilateralism in the IPU and also advancing effective policies to promote its activities.
