On the occasion of the first martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and his comrade Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis the deputy chief of Iraq’s PMU (Popular Mobilization Forces), Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC) held talks with new Syrian Ambassador to Iran on the recent regional issues as well as getting rid of the United States from the region in return for his martyrdom.

During the meeting, commemorating the memory of Iranian top commander Lieutenant General Soleimani, two parties made remarks on the recent regional developments as well as an inevitable need to take harsh revenge from the US for its barbaric terrorist act against the prominent Iranian commander.
Highlighting enduring partnership between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria, Iranian senior law-maker asserted that persistent Iran-Syria friendship relationship is more considerable than our relations with another. Lieutenant General Soleimani who made significant sacrifices in Syria as well as his unique role in victory of Resistance Front against terrorist groups or ISIS confirms this issue obviously.
Pointing to the potential capacities between Iranian and Syrian Parliaments particularly, in the post-war period, Iranian MP form Qom Constituency underscored that IPRC is keen to share its all fruitful experiences with your parliament in a bid to rebuild (war-torn) Syria.
Voicing his satisfaction over his meeting with the Head of Islamic Parliament Research Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of the first anniversary of General Soleimani’s martyrdom, Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Shafiq Dayoub, for his part, praised top (Iranian) anti-terror commander due to his sincere sacrifices in Syria.
Underlining the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in economic, scientific and cultural areas, Syrian Envoy expressed hope that we can overcome economic challenges facing the Syrians through further expansion of deeper parliamentary Syria-Iran ties as well as frequent mutual visits.
