Dr. Jalali met Yoo Ki June, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea's National Assembly
“Current nuclear talks can bear fruitful results only within international norms and compliance with NPT, provided that the 5p+1 Group commit themselves to the principles of negotiations”, said Kazem Jalali, Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC).
He made the remarks at a meeting with Yoo Ki June, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea's National Assembly on Thursday (20 Nov) on the sideline of the 5th International Seminar for Parliamentary Research Services.
Referring to the last year election in Iran which led to a new political atmosphere under the new administration, he said “Many developed countries expressed their interest to invest in Iran”.
As a senior lawmaker and member of the Parliament Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Jalali touched on the highly great status of some countries and said “we allow particular standing for certain countries in our political and economic relations and hope that the Republic of Korea can take benefit from this new atmosphere.”
On the current nuclear talks, Jalali pointed out “The Islamic Republic of Iran has endeavored as much as possible to reach an accord, provided that the P5+1 countries adhere to the key elements of the negotiations within the framework of international norms and NPT”.
Head of the IPRC also said “The cultural proximity between the countries makes it necessary to further strengthen the already existing fertile grounds for the expansion of relations”.
Yoo Ki June, for his part expressed hope for the settlement of nuclear disputes, adding that many Korean traders and companies are ready to launch trade relations with Iran, but they are hindered to do so as a result of the sanctions”.
He also referred to Iran’s traditional culture and said “I hope our people can better identify the Islamic Republic of Iran and that necessary grounds are prepared for our people to become more familiar with the Iranian culture and civilization.”
