Dr. Kazem Jalali:

Referendum, the best option to restore peace and security to Syria

Dr. Jalali underscored Oman’s role in resolving regional disputes, and said the best way to restore peace and stability to Syria is resorting to referendum.

Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center (IPRC), Dr. Kazem Jalali met Omani Parliament Speaker, Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser al Mawali on the sideline of the 34th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries (PUIC) in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Speaking to Omani Parliament Speaker, He appreciated the key role of Oman in the settlement of regional disputes and urged more efforts to prevent massacre and bloodshed of defenseless people of Yemen and widespread devastation of this country.
Expressing his regret at the ongoing crisis in Yemen and Syria, the senior lawmaker reiterated we are eager to promote parliamentary ties between our country (Islamic Republic of Iran) and Oman.
Khalid al Mawali, Omani Parliament Speaker, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the nuclear deal reached between I.R. of Iran and P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany). He also expressed the hope that a new horizon will be opened in the multilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and different countries across the world provided that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as well as the UN Security Council Resolution (2231) on Iran nuclear program is implemented thoroughly.
